Janoska Style – joining the unjoinable: classical, jazz, Latin, pop, and world music.
Four excellent, impeccably schooled and proven artists – three brothers Ondrej, Roman and František Jánoška and their brother-in-law Julius Darvas– make up a unique ensemble – Jánoška! František Jánoška’s excellent and unusual arrangements, their bold and interesting improvisations, passionate performances, excellent mood on the stage, communication among themselves and with the audience, creative and catchy energy turn each concert into a unique experience for the audience. The magnitude and beauty of their style has also been recognized by numerous artists who invite them to cooperate. These include Anna Netrebko, Al Jarreau, Bobby McFerrin, Juan Diego Flórez, Brian McKnight, Julian Rachlin, Randy Newman, Biréli Lagrène and Lalo Schifrin, as well as Deutsche Grammophon, one of the greatest discography labels for which they recorded their first album under a simple title Janoska Style (2016). The album turned Gold in less than a year! They did not make music lovers wait long. In March 2019, their new album Revolution was released. According to double bassist Julius Darvas, the purpose of the album was to honor the four great musicians from Liverpool. “Just like the Beatles ‘revolutionized’ pop music, we want to ‘revolutionize’ classical music.” Their visit to Zagreb will definitely confirm that all the superlatives and praises for the Janoška Ensemble have been warranted! All visitors are in for a unique musical treat. This will be an unforgettable spectacle not to be missed!
