One of the most exciting rising stars in her career, the American saxophonist and composer Lakecija Benjamin, due to her fiery and suggestive performances, has in a short time become almost unattainable for many promoters. Namely, she is one of the few artists who can choose among numerous offers from all over the world. This is confirmed by a look at the lists of DownBeat and the international Association of Jazz Journalists, where she occupies the first positions. That is why she is happy that she accepted the offer to perform at the Jazzg festival in Zagreb. She is equally respected and in demand by other musicians, from whom she receives invitations for collaborations, which she also has to filter.

Since she is a versatile musician who combines the enduring values of jazz, funk, Latin, R&B, hip-hop and soul, she has collaborated with stylistically diverse musicians, but always with those who have acquired legendary status. Among others, she combined her youthful energy, passion and virtuosity with the experience and wisdom of musical greats such as Clark Terry, Stevie Wonder, Reggie Workman, Harry Belafonte, Rashied Ali, David Murray, Christian Mcbride, Alicia Keys, Gregory Porter, Anita Baker , James “Blood” Ulmer and The Roots. With her performances, she enriched the sound of famous big bands: Duke Ellington Orchestra and Count Basie Orchestra. In addition, she was chosen to perform at the inauguration ceremony of President Barack Obama in 2009. She is equally appreciated for her discography, and as the leader of the group in the last ten years she has released four albums: "Retox", "Rise Up", "Pursuance: The Coltranes" and "Phoenix". And in that segment of creativity, she attracted the attention of her colleagues. Namely, respectable musicians took part in the recording of those albums, paying her respect, including Ron Carter, Reggie Workman, Gary Bartz, Regina Carter, Marc Cary, Dianne Reeves, Terri Lyne Carrington, Patrice Rushen and Wayne Shorter.

Ticket price until October 3 is 20 EUR, from October 4 25 EUR, and 30 EUR on the day of the concert.
