The Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra(DPO) is a metropolitan orchestra based in Daejeon, Republic of Korea. Dedicated to inspiring and enriching lives through orchestral experiences, the DPO presents a wide range of repertories from symphonies to chamber music. In May 2023, Jakyung Year was appointed as the Artistic Director & Principal Conductor, becoming the 9th person to hold the title. The DPO performs around 80 times annually, offering captivating musical experiences through various series. The ‘Masters Series’ is a representative subscription concert program that features collaborations with world-renowned musicians. The ‘Discovery Series’ explores interesting musical themes, while the ‘Chamber Series’ highlights deep and delicate chamber music. The ‘Matinee Concert’ provides a peaceful and refreshing musical experience with commentaries, and the ‘DPO Close-Up’ delivers exceptional performances in close proximity to the orchestra’s musicians. Through the 'Outreach Concert,' the orchestra shares the joy of music by bringing it to all corners of the city, promoting collaboration and inclusivity.

Internationally, the DPO has toured the U.S. (2004), performed at Japan's 'Asian Orchestra Week' (2005, 2015), and became the first Korean municipal orchestra to perform at Vienna’s Musikverein in 2012, with appearances in Prague, Budapest, and Munich.
