Ivo Pogorelić filled the 2024/2025 season with numerous recitals, as well as with performances with orchestras, in some of the world's most famous concert halls (the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Isarphilharmonie in Munich, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Paris Philharmonic Hall, the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the National Concert Hall in Taipei...).

 

As the Zagreb audience eagerly awaits his new recital, here is what musicologist Dr. Stefan Cvetković wrote about the artistry of this legendary artist:

“Ivo Pogorelić’s performances have long surpassed the format of conventional concerts and become a kind of musical séances in which he leads the audience into a transcendental experience from the first tones on. Rare today is such a kind of pianism that stems from a hermetic and spiritual approach to the score, a deep immersion into the very structure of the music. The specific technique he has developed contains a formula that dazzled the world with his original way of bringing musical scores to life in sound already four and a half decades ago. The paradoxical impression that well-known works sound under Pogorelić’s fingers as if for the ‘first time’ is the result of a skill he has sought to deepen over time. His escapist detachment from the banality of the contemporary world and an almost monastic dedication to his calling have made Pogorelić a preacher who offers the audience new meanings and interpretations of classical music over and over again.”
