Professor Brian Cox has once again confirmed his stellar status, selling out the Lisinski Concert Hall nine months ahead of the show! Due to exceptionally high demand, an additional date has been added on 17 September 2026, and tickets are already on sale.
Professor Brian Cox, the rock star of science, thrilled audiences last year with his show “Horizons” in a sold-out Lisinski Hall. Now, organized by Aquarius Records and Spindrift Promotions, he returns as part of his new major global tour “Emergence,” which will also stop in Ljubljana on September 15 and Zagreb on September 16 and 17.

Over the past fifteen years, Brian Cox has become one of the most recognizable faces of popular science, thanks to numerous acclaimed BBC radio and television programs — from the Peabody Award–winning series “Wonders of the Solar System” to the global hit “The Planets.” In the winter of 1610, as Johannes Kepler was crossing Charles Bridge in Prague, a snowflake landed on his sleeve. He looked at it and asked himself: “Why are all snowflakes hexagonal?” He wrote: “I do not believe that even in a snowflake this orderly pattern exists by chance.”
Four centuries later, science provides part of the answer. Snowflakes are made of water molecules, which are composed of atoms, which in turn consist of quarks and electrons — and perhaps even deeper building blocks such as superstrings. All of this is connected by the fundamental forces of nature described by quantum theory. But how does such subtle beauty arise from such abstract simplicity?

“Emergence” is a celebration of the complexity of the universe and an exploration of the natural laws that shape it — from the largest structures in the known universe, such as galactic flows forming the cosmic web, to the interdependent ecosystems on Earth and the wondrous architecture of the human brain. From black holes to snowflakes, the world around us fascinates with extraordinary complexity born from astonishing simplicity.

How is it possible that a species of great apes, only 250,000 years old, living on a small planet orbiting an average star in an ordinary galaxy, has managed to understand all of this — guided by curiosity, mathematics, and a sense of beauty and symmetry? And what might we yet become if we preserve the spirit of the Enlightenment cherished by Kepler and his contemporaries — ideas that enabled us to begin reading the story of the universe, to send spacecraft to the edges of the Solar System and beyond, toward the stars?

“I’ve loved creating Emergence — it’s the most ambitious show I’ve written to date. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with an incredible team of scientists, musicians, filmmakers, and graphic artists to bring together cosmology, biology, philosophy, and history on the largest and most technologically advanced LED screens, with the best sound and lighting I could find. I hope the show will be a truly immersive experience and that everyone — whether they love science, music, history, or simply contemplate the beauty of nature — will leave the hall with something new to think about,” said Professor Cox about the new show.

The show will be performed entirely in English. Tickets are available online at www.lisinski.hr or at the box office of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.
