The Široki Brijeg Homeland Community has been active in Zagreb since 1990. Through a variety of events and gatherings, it brings together people from Široki Brijeg and their friends, fostering community spirit and lasting connections. The goal of these gatherings is to socialize, support one another, strengthen and expand the bonds between members, and to positively influence both the community we live in and the one we come from. The annual Široki Brijeg Homeland Community Evening is traditionally held in Zagreb in November or December and consistently features humanitarian, charitable, and cultural elements. In 2025, the Community proudly celebrates its 35th anniversary. This year also marks the 30th Široki Brijeg Homeland Community Evening—our central annual event, and the largest gathering of people from Široki Brijeg outside their hometown in this century. This year's celebration will take place at the magnificent Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, and we’ve prepared a rich and diverse entertainment and cultural program for all our guests. Expect a unique Široki Brijeg Evening featuring outstanding musical, dramatic, artistic, theatrical, audio-visual, folkloric, and historical performances. We’ve aimed to highlight the significance and legacy of Široki Brijeg and its people—from the arrival of the Franciscan friars in 1844 to the present day. We hope you enjoy the evening.
