Dianne Reeves - Five-Time Grammy Award Winner Comes to Lisinski Hall

One of the world’s most prominent jazz singers, Dianne Reeves, will give a concert on 20 March 2018.
Her great success is the result of unbelievable virtuosity, a unique approach to jazz and R&B music and special improvisational power.

Her voice enriched George Clooney's film Good Night and Good Luck, which received six Oscar nominations, while Reeves won a Grammy Award for interpretation in the Best Jazz Singer category.

She released her first album Welcome to My Love back in 1982, while her latest album Beautiful Life was released three years ago. She takes the audience to a 12-song music journey with the covers of Waiting in Vain by Bob Marley, Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, I Want You by Marvin Gaye and 32 Flavors by Ani Difranco.  She brings the best of 21st century jazz music, in which elements of R&B, pop and Latin genres are skilfully intertwined.
Gregory Porter, Lalah Hathaway, Robert Glasper, Esperanza Spalding and Richard Bona were guests on the album; the best musicians are another confirmation of the great masterpiece.

In her long career, she has collaborated with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Simon Rattle, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. She was the first singer to ever perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

“All my life, I have liked and explored music from various parts of the world. My albums are one thing, and live performances something completely different. It is improvisation. During most of the concert, I do what I want, what I feel in that moment. Melody simply comes out of me and I only expand it”, the great artist said about her concerts.

She holds honorary doctor titles from the world’s most prominent music institutions, Berklee College of Music and Juilliard School.

Next year, she will receive a special U.S. award - the Jazz Master title, the highest honour in this genre that a musician can receive.
