The Nutcracker is a Christmas fairy tale told through the ballet choreography by one of the most famous choreographers, ballet masters and recipient of numerous awards and international recognitions – Valery Petrovich Kovtun. It is the story about a girl named Marie, who finds an unusual present under the Christmas tree, a wooden nutcracker doll, and goes through marvellous adventures in a dream world with it. Set to Tchaikovsky’s music, it shows a world completely different from ours – it evokes fantasy, magic, myths and legends.

 

It is performed by the Ukrainian Classical Ballet, an ensemble that includes the best soloists and principal dancers of Ukrainian theatres, whose artistic expression upholds the tradition of classical ballet, while their movements readily accept elements of the modern choreography. Audiences throughout the world recognized the quality of their unrivalled performance, which is why they had over seventy performances in numerous venues of Europe and China only last year.

 

The full experience will be provided by around thirty top dancers, whose movements will be highlighted by unique stage design and directing solutions, impressive decorations and costumes and contemporary video projections, which don’t leave even the most demanding audiences indifferent.
