Lavish Springtime Carmina Burana Fascinates Visitors

The carnival-time performance of Carl Orff's masterpiece at the end of February amazed the audience. The only ones who were left dissatisfied were those who could not attend the spectacle as it was sold out. Last Saturday, the same artists performed the piece again in front of a full audience, bringing Lisinski Hall to life with a breezy and playful atmosphere.

The Bright Face of Spring was the title of this thematic staging of Carmina Burana, in which Croatian opera stars Margareta Klobučar, Ladislav Vrgoč and Ljubomir Puškarić excelled alongside the Ivan Goran Kovačić Academic Choir conducted by Luka Vukšić, pianists Srebrenka Poljak and Domagoj Gušćić and the Sudar Percussion Ensemble.

Check out the photo gallery to see how the lively spring costumes, funny props and floral scenery made this impressive performance on March 26 even more memorable.
