National Folk Dance Ensemble of Croatia LADO, Croatian Radiotelevision Jazz Orchestra and Sudar Percussion ansamble together!

National Folk Dance Ensemble of Croatia LADO, Croatian Radiotelevision Jazz Orchestra and Sudar Percussion ansamble will present croatian traditional music in original way on May 23rd at Lisinski.

Three ensembles will present the diversity and beauty of the traditional music from throughout Croatia in a new and innovative way not heard to date.  Through over ten compositions arranged by Marko First, Aleksandar Vešić, Ivana Kuljerić Bilić and Zoran Šćekić, the audience will hear music characteristic of various Croatian regions, such as the songs from Međimurje, two-part singing from Istria called tarankanje, ojkanje polyphonic folk singing, klapa a capella singing, etc.

The idea is to bring traditional music closer to all generations in a unique way and connect 40 musicians from three different ensembles through characteristic sound.

Besides the traditional Croatian instruments and vocals of the artists from the LADO Ensemble, the project focuses on various percussion instruments played by the members of the Sudar Percussion Ensemble, as well as on specific instruments of the excellent Croatian Radio and Television Jazz Orchestra.

The programme will include compositions such as Dobra večer ružo moja (Good Evening My Rose), Dumboko je… (Deep Is the Sea below Omišalj), Bratec kosi (Brother Is Mowing), Svirka na gajdama (Bagpipe Playing), Istarski ples br. 2 (Istrian Dance No. 2), Alaj Jano (Oh, Jana), Bilogorsko kolo (Bilogora Round Dance), Mi smo rekle (We Said that We Would Sing Here) and others.
