After fourteen years, one of the best ensembles of the Apennine Peninsula – the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia – returns to Lisinski Hall.  The Orchestra’s current chief conductor, British maestro Daniel Harding, joined the tradition of its dedication to the symphonic repertoire, marked by master conductors – Gustav Mahler, Claude Debussy, Camille Saint-Saëns, Richard Strauss, Arturo Toscanini, Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado, Antonio Pappano and others since its foundation in 1908.

 

Joining them on the Lisinski Hall stage will be one of today’s most sought-after Italian pianists, Beatrice Rana, who has delighted audiences in prestigious concert venues around the world, from Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw to New York’s Carnegie Hall, for more than a decade. She will perform Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major, Op. 26.
The programme will also include Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Overture-Fantasy Romeo and Juliet, imbued by romantic emotionality, and Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43, marked equally by orchestral and motivic vividness.
