***
80 years of UNICEF in Croatia is not just a historical milestone—it is a story of hope, of what a society can achieve when it unites around a shared goal: a better life for children. It is a story of continuity of care, societal resilience, and a shared mission that continues to this day.
Over the decades, UNICEF has contributed to the development of key public services and institutions for mothers and children, supported vaccination programs, helped develop the country’s modern dairy industry, and contributed to the establishment of today’s Children’s Hospital in Klaićeva. UNICEF has also supported the creation of the Ombudsperson for Children’s Office, the development of school-based violence prevention programs, foster care and inclusive education systems, the establishment of Croatia’s first Human Milk Bank, and numerous programs supporting children with developmental difficulties, while continuously providing emergency assistance in crises such as floods, earthquakes, and pandemics.

Today, we continue to build a future together in which every child is safe, protected, and has equal opportunities.
