“Zvižduk s Bukovca” is a short fiction film based on the novel of the same name by Zagreb writer Zvonimir Milčec. The film offers a contemporary adaptation of a story about growing up, friendship, and Zagreb’s Bukovac neighbourhood, bringing the novel’s familiar characters and motifs into a new era.

Joško Buzina as Kanta, and
Andrej Bačurin as Truli.

The film was created as a student project by Dora Bujan, in collaboration with a young film crew consisting of students from Algebra Bernays University, VERN’ University, journalism studies, and the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences (TVZ). The original music for the film was created by the Zagreb-based band Richter.
