Free entry for anyone who wants to see young conductors in action and enjoy musical classics

The 8th Lovro von Matačić International Young Conductors Competition is underway in the Lisinski Concert Hall, where the most gifted young conductors from all over the world are fighting for victory in this prestigious competition of worldwide reputation with attractive works of world and Croatian musical heritage.
On Wednesday and Thursday, September 20 and 21, the performances of the ten best-rated candidates selected by an expert jury led by the distinguished Polish conductor, composer and pedagogue Antoni Wit will be open to the public.
Visitors can pick up their free tickets for both rounds at the Lisinski box office.
 
Five candidates will present themselves on September 20 in the third round at 9:30 a.m., and the remaining five at 7 p.m.
 
The fourth round, in which the six best candidates divided into two groups will compete, is scheduled for September 21, also at 9:30 a.m. and at 7 p.m.
 
The final round will be held on Friday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m., when the three finalists will perform one of the given compositions from the fourth round accompanied by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra.
 
Immediately after their performances, the winner will be announced, as well as the award for the best performed piece by a Croatian composer.
 
Tickets for the finalist's final concert, priced at €5, are available at the Lisinski box office and online HERE.
 
Subscribers of the cycle on Saturdays at Lisinski, upon presentation of their subscription card at the box office, are guaranteed free entry to the final concert.
