Japan’s Drumming Sensation Kodo to Appear in February!

Japan’s legendary drummers Kodo are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. The sound of their giant taiko drums travels around the world in the musically exciting and spectacular new show Tsuzumi, with which they are coming to Lisinski Hall on 6 February 2022.

Taiko is a traditional Japanese drum and the basis of an energetic living art form. The Kodo drumming troupe, whose name means "heartbeat", but also "children of drums", are masters of this form, who catapulted ancient Japanese culture right into the 21st century. Since its founding in 1981, the Kodo ensemble has given more than 6,000 performances in 50 countries around the world.

The One Earth Tour: Tsuzumi brings a new creative chapter in the art of the spectacular Kodo group. The masterpieces that have marked their 40 years of activities, as well as exceptional works created in recent years, will show Zagreb’s audience the full breadth and depth of the Kodo ensemble and take it to Japan and the warm embrace of Sado Island, where members hone their amazing skills before their tours.

Tickets costing HRK 250, 300 and 350 are available at the Lisinski Hall box offices and online at Eventim.hr and HERE.
